Opinew is fully compatible with the new Shopify Dawn Theme and all Shopify themes using Online Store 2.0, announced at Unite 2021!
We’re glad to introduce new widgets sections (or app blocks) that you can easily drag & drop via the brand new theme editor available for Shopify stores. Follow our step-by-step tutorials to add our new app theme sections to your different pages on themes using Shopify OS 2.0.
Requirements for all tutorials:
You will only need to have Opinew installed on your Shopify store and complete our onboarding process to make sure our code is added to your theme’s code automatically.
On newly created Shopify stores, Shopify Dawn Theme will be your default theme. Refer to this article if you’d like to add this theme to your store.
Add Opinew’s Stars and Review Widget to your Shopify Product Pages

Product Stars
Step 1: Switch from the homepage to your product page inside the editor.
Step 2: On the left sidebar, under “Product Information” click on “Add Blocks“, scroll down to the bottom, and locate our “Product Stars” section.
Step 3: We recommend positioning it under your product title so they have more impact on your visitors. In order to do that, simply drag it and drop it below the product title section.
Product reviews
Step 1: On the left sidebar, click on “Add Sections” and locate our “Product Reviews”
If you’d like to customize the style of this section, you will need to do it directly within the Opinew application.
Other Widgets: Carousel, All Reviews Page, All Reviews Badge
Review Carousel
Step 1: Open the Shopify Dawn theme’s editor by clicking on Online Store > Themes > Customize
Step 2: On the left sidebar, scroll down and locate the “Add Sections” button.
Step 3: On the dropdown menu, scroll down to the bottom, locate “Featured Review Carousel“, and click on it to add it to the page.
Step 4: If you want to change its position on your page, click on it on the left sidebar and drag it to your desired position.
All Reviews (Footer) Badge
Shopify’s 2.0 theme editor doesn’t allow us to add specific sections to the footer for now. You can still add it to your pages outside of your footer using the drag & drop method. Please contact the support via the live chat button inside the app if you’d like to add this badge to your footer.
Step 1: On the left sidebar, scroll down to the bottom, click ” Add Sections” and locate our “All Reviews Badge” section.
If you want to change its position on your page, drag it and drop it to your desired position.
Step 2: This section comes with customizable options located on the right sidebar:
- You can select between three types of badges:
- Wide Badge with average stars
- Small Badge
- Wide Badge
- You can change the alignment to your preference (Left, Center, Right)
Step 3: Make your changes and save.
